Unfortunately, many academic were trapped in a time warp when they wrote their contributions to this book. Events have moved so far that their prejudices and biases were overtaken by reality, if not ":mugged by rerality". Any reader who years to know where the ex-USSR's economy is going -- or how it got to the miserable place it's now at -- should loook elsewhere. This is not the kind of book that will answer basic questions (such as "How did the average Russian enterprise cope, or at least try to cope, with the collapse of the USSR and the demise of the command economy?"). Scholars will, however, find some interesting items amongst some of the essays and articles reprinted in this book.

Don't be fooled! This checklist is just that-a list of names. Although there is a bibliography of biographies of painters, there is no link telling you which biography has information on your particular painter. So you can look up Homer, Winslow, find he was an American who lived from 1836-1910, but that's it. Save your money.

Of the 60 pages in this odd little pamphlet, fewer than 8 deal directly with the topic of lucid dreaming. The balance of the "book" is a rambling essay touching on sleep, insomnia, history of dreams, dream interpretation, and nightmares. Not much "advanced thinking" either; the writing is sophomoric, at best.

For less than half the price of this piece get a copy of LaBerge's "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming", a veritable encyclopedia of lucid dreaming by comparison.

Don't bother. These papers are filled with the kind of academic pretense that makes one question the whole enterprise. Pass it up in favor of theory for dummies ...

There is nothing in this book to read. Think about a few minutes about curtains and simply you will find more ideas than the ones in this 17 page book.

When did he become Emperor and where did Mr. Lange get his information? Doesn't he know that President Wilson lied about Pearl Harbor and that the real Emperor is not from Tokyo Castle at all but south where the older castles are? Is he sane?

In spite of the tantalizing title, this is not a book which explains in detail the theory and practice of image processing and optical character recognition (OCR). Instead it is a pamphlet--merely 13 pages long (that's over $1 per page)--intended for accountants who want to know the meaning of OCR and how it might benefit them. If you are a programmer or engineer looking for a comprehensive guide to Image Processing or OCR, this book is not the bargain it seems to be

I thought unabridged was complete or in full. I maybe wrong but these cassettes are definately a brief ( very brief ) outline of the book and it's contents.
